Gabriel Viti, chef and owner of Gabriel's Restaurant,
graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in January of 1986
and has been on the fast-track to an illustrious and successful career
ever since. He has had the opportunity to work with many famous chefs
at some of the greatest restaurants in the world. His impressive resume
includes working with Joel Robuchon in Paris, Freddy Girardet in Switzerland,
Michel Guerard in
Southwestern France, as well as working at Taillevant in Paris and San
Domenico of Imola in Italy. In the United States Chef Viti has worked
as head chef at Carlos' Restaurant in Highwood and as Executive Chef
for Rich Mellman's Lettuce Entertain You.
Gabriel's Restaurant, now open for over 14 years, serves French
and Italian cuisine in an elegant dining room of white linen, mahogany,
and etched glass. A European-style open kitchen puts chefs in full view
of onlooking diners who are treated to a nightly performance of culinary
artistry. Meanwhile an experienced wait staff stands ready to offer
the finest in traditional Continental service. Gabriel's is located
at 310 Greenbay Rd. in Highwood and is open for dinner at 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday through Saturday.
